Significance of Hanuman

Hanuman is a symbol of courage and valor accompanied by knowledge, compassion and unwavering devotion. We often doubt the existence of God and that is where we fall short of being devoted, spiritual beings.

Hanuman is the idol of humility and loyalty. Most of us lack these characteristics, and this is the need of the world today. In the history of the world, there is no being as powerful and truthful as Hanuman.

He is 'Chiranjeevi' or immortal, and no one can match his strength, loyalty and unflinching devotion towards God. He is the 'ideal devotee', and it is he that we must to try to be like. He always took the name of God before doing any task set before him. This is what enabled him to do all his great feats.

Another factor that makes Hanuman unique from the other Gods is his bravery. Jumping across the ocean to reach Lanka and lifting up the Dronagiri Mountain are some of the feats that bring out his strength, and define him as one of the most valiant Gods in Indian History. It is no surprise that the 'Mahavir Chakra' or the award for bravery is named after him.

It is not just his strength that separates him from other Gods – it is also his great reserve of knowledge and chivalry. There is a story emphasizing this, and also his devotion : ( click here )
