Now you see Him, now you don't. That's what God is all about. He is almost like the Invisible Man (seen that movie?). He makes an appearance every time you do something good and vanishes every time you do something bad like lie, steal, hurt someone or just plain ignore His existence. 

And unlike our parents, who have just two or three of us children to take care of, dear God has a few million. Not only us humans, but even animals and insects, mother nature and birds! So it is obvious he won't have time to talk to all of us face-to-face.
